Mercedes F1 with magnetic suspensions?

Posted by on Oct 13, 2018 in EVENTS, PRESS | Comments Off on Mercedes F1 with magnetic suspensions?

The Mercedes secret is called Magnetic Ride, or magnetic suspensions

Since the Belgian GP on, the Mercedes has made a big step forward in the global fight against Ferrari. In Russia this domain has been so evident that it turned out as it depended on a thorough development work of Suspension rear. In fact, the Mercedes of Hamilton and Bottas have adopted a new scheme with shock absorbers magnetic. On cars as standard with a certain level Magnetic Ride, it's called the system, It is already used for some time, but in F1 had not seen and that's because the reaction time and the development of a suspension of this kind are by no means easy. In fact, it was later learned that the Belgian Grand Prix onwards, the Mercedes has spent 30 million euro in more for the development of these solutions.
The mechanism is quite simple in concept but complex in its application. Or, within the shock absorber fluid are present particles metal that have a precise magnetic charge. When the shock absorber undergoes a compression or an extension, depending on the terrain that meets, a control unit sends signals to the magnetic particles inside the cushion. Practically, to maintain constant attitude and 4 wheels attached to land, the control instant by instant the shock absorber stroke modification ensuring a trim constant, allowing two things. The perfect adherence of the tires on the ground, and therefore allows maximum adherence both in lateral seal both in acceleration, but also and above all a constant weight height, so the aerodynamics always work in the best way. This result can be achieved is a refinement of the concept of Magnetic Ride, therefore a system that simulates the four-wheel steering (banned in F1) and the exact spring setting and suspensory group as if it were an active suspension (Also prohibited this).

At the moment the solution is only possible with a hydraulic suspension (and Red Bull the only one with the Mercedes to have it) while for the mechanical part you can not do. At Ferrari they know perfectly well what it's about, seen that rumors about the type of Mercedes suspension comes right from internal sources in Maranello, the question is whether you have time to use one like it and how long it takes for development, unless the FIA deems a Magnetic Ride system to forbid and then all the work of Mercedes (Red Bull but also to what you suspect…) be thwarted. In addition, the Mercedes has also modified the venting channels of the rims (supplied by padovana OZ) with a special paint which not only make them lighter, disposing the heat better. Then, summing up, Mercedes the success it is due to fluids del Magnetic Ride (Made in Italy Villastellone at Petronas?) the OZ wheels (Padova) and special paints (the Nanoprom Sassuolo).

Aria by Snaidero e Pininfarina: pure research and innovation

Posted by on Mar 8, 2018 in EVENTS, PRESS | Comments Off on Aria by Snaidero e Pininfarina: pure research and innovation

Snaidero continues its stylistic and technological research and transforms it into pure innovation, applying technology to the kitchen from the nautical and automotive applications, looking at new goals.
For the debut of the new Snaidero at the Milan Furniture Fair, we had the pleasure of speaking with Paolo Pininfarina, designers in Aria and owner of the eponymous brand.
“Aria means lightness and aerodynamics, Key factors that make up the Pininfarina design. The aesthetic is no longer enough, the difference is made by the correct use of the material“.
And just about the high technological value to our microphones the designer wanted to explain the meaning of the name Aria and the strong innovation that characterizes: new materials, new technologies, new solutions.
Aria It is realized with innovative materials such as carbon fiber and this is characterized by a high mechanical resistance, while maintaining excellent lightness. The aesthetic preciousness is the result of a special coating that uses the copper and is completed in a mixture with a particular final finishing hand crafted to enhance the impact material element. Cutting Edge Technology, then, combined with a skillful artisan skills.
“The kitchen is the most complicated machine in the house, the car is the most complicated product design as a means of transport ... so intuition was right.”
The doors of the kitchens have been treated with a special coating Polysil borrowed from nautical. A cold and velvety tactile effect, anti-scratch, anti-dirt and anti-fingerprint.
Light is the key element of the project Aria. The ring which illuminates the operating area was made of polycarbonate with an innovative rapid prototyping method based on 3d printing technology. The use of LED technology is customizable intensity and temperature, for a style of comfortable and healthy life.
Search for technical perfection and stylistic additional strength also in the work plan. The solution chosen for this new kitchen model incorporates the innovative Invisible Line patent a special process of quartz that allows the realization of a large floor without visible joints.
In the short interview we even got to talk to Paolo Pininfarina of his personal approach to the design world.
“The first women do not go anywhere“.
He wished to emphasize that the figure of the designer and has obviously changed over the years. Where once it was a strong personality that could range from a creative field to another, Now the key to success is cooperation. "I like to think of being the coach of a team. The future energy needs, exchanges, youth, technology and experiences and the team fertilization ", These are the words of the designer with whom we said goodbye and give an impression of what it means signing Pininfarina in the design world.
He anticipated that other news are in the works which will be released in the near future. We can do is wait to see his new creations.
The designers also wanted to tell us something more about the historic collaboration with Snaidero.
“Our cooperation is the daughter of a great insight of the founder of Snaidero”.
“Cavalier Rino Snaidero, who summoned Pininfarina and then myself to develop and implement some ideas, because he had already had some insights: It decided that Pininfarina could give innovation in the Snaidero, because they put together different experiences but complementary would have generated a great level of innovation, […] the automobile world and that of the kitchen are not so different“.
Snaidero, a company that has always stood out for her to be in step with the times, celebrates its birthday with the hashtag # Snaidero70. A journey through many initiatives that are taking place throughout the 2016: an exhibition celebrating the company, It made possible through a long and meticulous archival work that has brought back images, parole, drawings and testimonies of the trademark path, is, at the same time, an amazing insight into the history of Italy. #Snaidero70 will also be a detailed project of digital communication, with special content, stories and interviews with witnesses of different ages in a path that, further proof of the brand's modernity, will live in a multi-stage, embracing all the new social platforms, from Facebook and Instagram. Pininfarina Nanotech, the second pen designed by Pininfarina for Visconti

Posted by on Jul 27, 2017 in EVENTS, PRESS | Comments Off on Pininfarina Nanotech, the second pen designed by Pininfarina for Visconti

Torino 20 March 2015 - After the success of the Pininfarina Carbongrafite, Visconti and Pininfarina are pleased to present at Baselworld the second result of the collaboration: Pininfarina Nanotech.
Pininfarina Carbongrafite stood out in the landscape of writing instruments through the use of an aerospace material, The unidirectional carbon graphite, with unique aesthetic technical characteristics. For the evolution of the project was carried out a search in the materials used in Formula One. The material used is in fact the Nanotech ADNC, which is obtained by a treatment to carbon nanotubes to spread, It is unremovable and guarantees outstanding performance so as to be adopted by leading Formula One teams. The new Pininfarina Nanotech does not exhaust the innovations in material, but incorporates important technical improvements: It has been redesigned such as the optical mechanism kaizen, of continuous improvement.
"Innovation, design and craftsmanship of the highest level are the business of the collaboration between Pininfarina and Visconti ticket "says Paolo Pininfarina, Group President. "The continuous research on materials has led to the creation of Pininfarina Nanotech, new expression of our shared values ".

Specifications:
Pininfarina Nanotech has a completely revised mechanism. The pen is lighter thus allowing a better writing experience.
The pen body is no longer lives but magnetic, filling and refill exchange are carried out much more quickly and simply thanks to the stem with magnetic closure. Even cleaning is greatly facilitated because the stylus can also be extracted during the filling phase. A simple click communicates both the aperture and the closure of the pen. All metal fittings are made of titanium.
The packaging is made of Nanotech, the same material of the pen, and shall draw the mechanism.

The material:
The Nanotech ADNC is an innovative material recently invented by Nanoprom. It consists of avional aereonautico treated with carbon nanotubes and silver ions.
It is a lightweight metal, with specific gravity 1/3 steel, more resistant to corrosion of the best stainless steel and more resistant to abrasive wear of hardened steel and with antibacterial properties.
A drastic weight reduction (65% in less than steel), without giving up an excellent mechanical consistency, means for all the moving parts to reduce both the energy consumption that the inertial phenomena.
Visconti and then Nanoprom have devised a formula perfectly adapting it to writing, with the typical characteristics of luxury products.

Nanotech ADNC Properties:
• Wear resistance, 6 times harder than aluminum, 2 times more steel
• Corrosion resistance, 20 times greater than any metal
• Low coefficient of friction, self-lubrication of the mechanism
• High thermal conductivity, so high writing comfort
• High anti-static capacity and the absence of fingertips
• Ability to absorb heat and reissue it with ultra-infrared waves
• High capacity antibacterial and anti-mold (bacteriostatic) therefore high hygienic safety
