Visconti’s Pininfarina Nanotech pen has turned to FORMULA ONE racing! A new material has been used, subjected to a diffusion-based carbon nanotube treatment – thus impossible to remove – which is so strong that it is used by leading Formula One teams as Red Bull, Ferrari and Mercedes.
The light metal has a weight that is one-third that of steel while having better resistance to corrosion than even the best stainless steel and greater resistance to abrasive wear than hardened steel. It consists of aeronautical avional treated with carbon nanotubes and silver ions.
Characteristics of Nanotech
– Resistance to wear: six times tougher than aluminum, twice as tough as steel;
– Resistance to corrosion: twenty times more resistant than any metal;
– Low attrition-rate coefficient, self-lubricating mechanism;
– Excellent heat conductor, thus excellent level of writing comfort;
– Excellent antistatic capacity and absence of fingertips;
– Able to absorb heat and to re-emit it with ultra-infrared waves;
– Excellent antibacterial and antimould (bacteriostatic) capability, thus excellent hygiene safety level.
The body of the pen is no longer of the screw type; filling and changing the refill is now far quicker and simpler thanks to the magnetic closure on the pen’s barrel. It is also far easier to clean because the nib can be extracted even during filling operations. The box is made of the same material as the pen, Nanotech, and it echoes the pen’s mechanism.
The edition consists of 930 fountain pens and 903 rollerball pens. The fountain pen has a chromium 18 Smartouch tubular nib, available in several line widths.

On the occasion of the 85th anniversary of Pininfarina, Visconti and Pininfarina are pleased to present the technological evolution of Pininfarina Carbongrafite.
With Carbongrafite Visconti led writing an aerospace material, unidirectional carbon graphite, with unique aesthetic technical characteristics. For the new Pininfarina pen was carried out a search in the materials used in the FORMULA ONE.
The material used for the Pininfarina Nanotech which is obtained by a treatment to carbon nanotubes to spread, It is unremovable and guarantees outstanding performance so as to be adopted by leading Formula One teams.

In fact, a drastic weight reduction (65% in less than steel), without renouncing to an excellent mechanical consistency, means for all the moving parts to reduce both the energy consumption that the inertial phenomena.
Well, this extraordinary innovative material has recently been invented by and named Nanoprom ADNC.
It consists of avional aereonautico treated with carbon nanotubes and silver ions.
Visconti and then Nanoprom have devised a formula perfectly adapting it to writing, with the typical characteristics of luxury products.

The pen is lighter thus allowing a better writing experience.
The pen body is no longer lives but magnetic, filling and refill exchange are carried out much more quickly and simply thanks to the stem with magnetic closure.
Even cleaning is greatly facilitated because the stylus can also be extracted during the filling phase.
A simple click communicates both the aperture and the closure of the pen.
All metal fittings are made of titanium.
The packaging is made of Nanotech, the same material of the pen, and shall draw the mechanism.

We made, along with the new Pininfarina Nanotech, a large version "Flex" of our famous tubular stylus.
This nib Cromium® is shaped in a different manner, so the tips are much more flexible.
On the two parts of the pen it was carved one ?ZOT®? to allow the wings to work vertically being much more sensitive to the applied pressure.
The shape of the cut called "ZOT®" has been studied and tested in order to react immediately to the different
of the pen in the hand positions. It also allows the tips to work in horizontal having more space to open, thus allowing to increase the ink inflow.
