Ducati: there is a secret about Martin's winning Desmosedici!
The young Spanish rider took his first victory with the Pramac team's Ducati which used the new light-colored Marchesini front wheel in the race. It adopts a treatment with special nanotechnological paints that have a strong impact thanks to the value of refracting heat, helping to lower the tire usage temperature. The new rim was also used over the weekend by Miller and Bagnaia.

Nobody noticed, but Jorge Martin achieved his first success in MotoGP with the Pramac team's Ducati by bringing an interesting technical innovation to his debut. The Spaniard's Desmosedici lined up at the start of the Styrian GP with a new Marchesini rim in the front.
The solution is not easily recognizable due to the now constant presence of carbon parts that tend to fairing the wheel, but the novelty could not go unnoticed because the rim in question was painted in a light color. Just like the one used by Jack Miller and Pecco Bagnaia on the factory bike at different times of the Austrian weekend.

It is legitimate to ask why Gigi Dall’Igna's technicians have gone from a traditionally dark wheel to a light one?
The answer is simple, because the wheel has been treated with special nanotechnological paints that have a strong impact thanks to the advantage of refracting heat, helping to lower the tire usage temperature.
The circle in question, Inter alia, it would have other peculiarities: inside, it would adopt a different chemical treatment than that visible on the outside because it would be useful for radiating heat from the brakes and stabilizing the temperature in what should be the Michelin tire usage window.
The solution works in particular with the ventilated Brembo front disc: it is a version from 340 mm in diameter defined High Mass because it is high-end, able to better extract the heat in the most probative circuits.
Marchesini is a brand that is part of the Brembo Group e, then, enjoys the knowledge that the Bergamo-based company has, leader in braking systems, also developed in F1, where the management of flows in the wheel corner is much more complex than what has been necessary up to now in MotoGP.
The fact remains that Marchesini can benefit from some concepts known in F1 that are now also implemented on two wheels, in an ever closer symbiosis between the braking system as a source of heat, the rim that helps distribute the temperature and the tires.

The topic immediately attracted Ducati technicians who have developed their own line of research: initially in Borgo Panigale they focused on gray magnesium circles that were less noticeable, but this does not mean that they are less useful for the function for which they were designed.
Thanks to a better exploitation of the rubber it is possible to stabilize its behavior e, then, durability while also contributing significantly to improved performance.
It must be said that April has also worked hard in this direction. The team from Noale in the tests carried out in Misano with Andrea Dovizioso as test driver had experienced the white Marchesini rims, but it has not yet brought the clear wheels into the race. Because the evolution on the subject has just begun ...
