The Reggio company was awarded by Bernoni Grant Thornthon for its masks "eco friendly" surgical procedures, that guarantee "a much lower impact than traditional ones".

Masks yes, but with particular attention to the environment. Thanks to this intuition, the Reggio companyNanoprom Chemicals, specialized in the production of light paints for different sectors (from submarines, to the aeronautics, to the Formula 1), was awarded thefourth edition of the Open Innovative PMI, the award that Bernoni Grant Thornthon (“member firm” di Grant Thornton International Ltd, network present in over 140 countries in the world) annually assigns to innovations from small and medium-sized Italian companies.
For the"Environmental Sustainability" category(the other categories awarded were “Research, innovation and digital "and" Resilience to covid-19 ", Lecce respectively assigned to a company and a Bolognese), Nanoprom Chemicals S.r.l. has established itself, as theofficial motivation, "For the design and manufacture of surgical masks with a much lower impact than traditional ones. Nanoprom Chemicals S.r.l. operates in the research and industrial application of nano materials and develops nanotechnologies at the service of highly specialized industries. He developed, for example, Polysil, material appreciated for its resistance and used in various sectors, from Formula1, to the naval industry, passing through the military ".
“We are very proud of this recognition - he commentsGianluca Falleti, founder and owner of Nanoprom Chemicals- because it gives credit to a project in which we have invested considerable resources since the coronavirus pandemic began. During the lockdown last spring, also our company, like so many others, had to partially rethink its business. We decided, in its time, to invest in research on masks, to create productive independence and innovation. There have been many developments in recent months. The recognition received refers to our single-ply surgical masks, which as such have aenvironmental impact 4 times less than traditional ones, as well as being lighter and ensuring greater comfort in breathing. In other words, 1 million of our masks impact like 4 millions of traditional ones, reducing the pollution of 75%.
The reduction of material for our masks is possible thanks to the research we have carried out on materials, developinga CE certified mask in polyester and cellulose, instead of polypropylene like the traditional ones ".
The news from Nanoprom Chemicals does not end there. Still on the subject of masks, the Reggio company has developed a "antiviral stamp”Which allows healthcare personnel (medici, nurses) to wear only FFP2 masks without an additional surgical mask. FFP2 are in fact defined "opportunist masks", because they don't let in viruses and bacteria but they let everything out. Hence the need, usually, to associate them with the surgical masks. The Nanoprom "stamp", instead, being treated with a special antibacterial and antiviral paint already certified by the Mirandola Technopole (MO), allows you to avoid having to use the surgical template, with the result of greater lightness for the wearer (0,5 grams against 3,5 grams) and an environmental impact 8 times less than traditional protection.
“Our research on masks does not stop - concludes Falleti - so much so that other important news on this subject are imminent. Currently, like Nanoprom we are able to produce 2,5 millions of masks per month and our promotion continues throughout Italy, which provides the masks at the price of 0,40 cents each (instead of i 0,50 cents of the "political" price) is, for families, free from the third child onwards ". Nanoprom Chemicals was born in 2011 in Sant’Antonio di Casalgrande (Reggio Emilia) on initiative
by the entrepreneur Gianluca Falleti. Right from the start, the company specialized in the study and development of nanomaterials and light paints. Shortly after its foundation, Nanoprom Chemicals launches Polysil, internationally awarded product (Qualitec Award 2011 al Seatec) and still used worldwide for the protection of polymer-based surfaces (gelcoat and paints), metals, alloys and glass. Today, Nanoprom is a leading supplier of light coatings and nanomaterials in several sectors, by the aeronautics, to the marina, to the Formula 1.
