Gian Luca Falleti is 45 years old and with his wife Antonella Sabattino he created Nanoprom, a company that orbits in the ceramic district but which for its latest invention resulting from the Covid emergency has resorted to the Mirandola Technopole, in the heart of the district that has been from other part of the Via Emilia.
Four years ago Nanoprom, a dozen internal and external employees invoiced 120 thousand euros. Which became 700,000 in 2018. Then 1.6 million in 2019 and last year more than doubled to 3.7 million. With a future apparently in further strong growth in the coming months and years given the evolution of the pandemic and the great attention that is now being paid to killing bacteria. At home and in any workplace.
Nanoprom, behind the scenes, without much fuss has already been for some years the company that, by patenting the lightest solvent-based paint in the world, is partner of numerous teams of the Formula 1 circus. But with the tragedy of Covid, the entrepreneur is bringing Nanoprom to pole position also in the field of products capable of keeping at a distance and defeating viruses and bacteria.
«I was returning from the Barcelona GP and on the plane I had to pay attention to everything. I thought: Look! Don't touch this, don't touch that…. - says Falleti - The next day I was already studying a solution with our research laboratory ».
Punctually found and which is already being adopted by two hospitals and two large industries.
“It's called BV-Stop, with the letters B and V standing for bacteria and viruses. A product designed for all those places whose surfaces are at risk due to the presence of pathogens. From operating theaters to office desks. From the mobile phone to the wheel of the car - explains Mr Nanoprom - I could not use a solvent-based product and then we arrived at a water-based spray. The tests we conducted in the laboratory with the support of the Mirandola Technopole tell us that 24 hours after its application in the laboratory, it reduces the bacteria inoculated on the treated surface by 99.99% compared to the untreated one. Tests on viruses belonging to the human Coronavirus family have also given excellent results, showing a reduction in viral load after only two hours, in laboratory tests of over 90% ".
Five non-profit ambulances from the Ceramic District are already using the virus-killing spray. And once applied, the tested substance leaves no wet or greasy traces. Totally colorless and odorless.
«We simulated weekly washes with the most aggressive industrial detergents - adds Falleti - and found an effectiveness that remains substantially unchanged for at least 300 different steps. Laboratory tests tell us that BV-Stop provides protection against viruses and bacteria for up to five years of its first and only application ».
The fact remains that the story of Falleti and Nanoprom is becoming a story common to other Modena companies. That with the exponential growth of revenues they need to have new resources available.
