Andrea Mura onboard Vento di Sardegna (Open 50) with Raymarine electronics.<\/p><\/div>\n

Although Andrea is solo sailor, he was accompanied by full suite of Raymarine electronics during the race.\u00a0 Andrea\u2019s Open 50 Vento di Sardegna is equipped with our new Quantum CHIRP radar and our Evolution autopilot during the race.\u00a0 Andrea is also a beta tester for Raymarine and on this trip Andrea was using our soon-to-be-released Evolution R4 software.\u00a0\u00a0 Building on the Evolution\u2019s advanced aerospace derived technology, R4 software delivers greatly enhanced track and wind steering control using Evolution\u2019s 9 axis heading sensor and special algorithms that adapt to wind shifts and cross track error much faster than conventional autopilots.\u00a0 These new enhancements in R4 give long distance racing sailors like Andrea Mura the competitive edge in extreme conditions and through rough quartering seas.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m very happy and satisfied for the performance of the Evolution R4 software that I\u2019ve the opportunity to test during this race.\u00a0 I used Evolution 90% of the time because, being alone, I have to work on sails, route plans, and also to manage all the typical onboard needs.\u00a0 I also used Evolution always in wind vane mode and it works very well and its very precise. Thanks to the Raymarine Evolution I could have some quiet hours of rest during the night\u201d<\/p>\n
